Welcome to RED KITE

They say the best ideas hit you when you least expect them. Mine landed in the desert, galloping on horseback around the pyramids of Giza, the sun setting like a slow-burning ember behind me. It was surreal, ancient, and humbling—and my family wasn’t there to see it.
That moment planted a seed. I wanted to share the experience—not just with my wife and children, but with anyone who’s ever felt that pull to explore the world. And so RED KITE was born: a blog dedicated to travel, products, and life, written under the alias Charles Henry (because every good adventure needs a bit of mystery, right?).
The Travel Bit
Travel has always stirred something in me. From misty mornings in Ireland to market nights in Marrakech, I’ve been lucky enough to wander far and wide. But Egypt was different—it reminded me how powerful it is to experience the world beyond your bubble. And how much I wanted my family there to see it with me.
So this blog is part travel journal, part encouragement. Whether you’re a solo explorer, a family holiday planner, or someone just dreaming of the next trip, RED KITE is here to share stories, tips, and a few misadventures.
Future plans? More family trips, more bold escapes, and maybe—just maybe—a camper van conversion. Stay tuned.
The Product Side
As a product designer, I’m always surrounded by things—some useful, some… less so. I’ll share the gear that actually improves daily life, whether it’s tech that helps me create better at work, or products that make parenting three children a little less chaotic.
Expect honest reviews, wish lists, and thoughts on design that matters—both for the job and the juggle that is family life.
Life, Structured (Sort Of)
I’m a husband and father of three, trying to build a balanced life with room for creativity, adventure, and the occasional full night’s sleep. I’m also on a journey toward better health—physically and mentally—because I want to show my children what it looks like to live intentionally, not perfectly.
This blog will dip into that too. How I structure my week, the routines that work (or fall apart), the small wins in parenting, and the bigger lessons I learn along the way.
Why RED KITE?
The red kite is a bird I often see when I’m out exploring the UK countryside—or even just walking through the suburbs of London, my home. It glides with a quiet confidence, riding the wind with grace and freedom. That’s the spirit I want this blog to capture. A sense of curiosity, of noticing the beauty in everyday places, and of soaring through life with purpose.
Thanks for being here. I hope RED KITE gives you something—ideas, insights, or just a good read with your morning coffee. Here’s to the journey ahead.
